When Viewing Examples of Student Work:

Often a single example of work may not demonstrate all the required objectives for a particular assignment. Instead students should collectively consider: the required objectives for each assignment, the multiple examples presented on this website and during in class presentations. As well ideas discovered through a student's independent research in combination with various examples and ideas presented by instructor will ultimately be the best approach for synthesizing ideas and reaching the requirements (and unique outcome) for any particular course project. Attendance and participation in all classes and meeting with instructor with Art Assignments in progress well in advance of deadlines will increase chances for desired grade. ACHIEVING REQUIREMENTS AND OBJECTIVES FOR FINAL PROJECT:
Through out this Math and Art course various visual examples of individual mathematical concepts have been presented and discussed in each lecture. All of those lectures are now posted on this website/blog.

Please note that as stated in class the assignment objectives for the Final Project assignment from previous courses are slightly different from your Final Project assignment objectives in this course. In addition to reviewing your notes from class, carefully review/read the information in the Final Project assignment handout posted above AND the information in the links (see below) for the Final Project assignment lectures to make sure you are addressing the requirements and objectives of the assignment.

Here are links to the lectures which present examples of Final Project assignments from last year which offer some ideas to utilize in your Final Project assignment for this course:
The last two images in the above link will clarify how to label the acetate overlay for the Final Project.

As stated in class and in the assignment hand out, the use of colour and the use of wet art materials (paint, guache or watercolour) and dry art materials (coloured markers, coloured pencils, oil pastels) will be an important part of this assignment, here is a link to the lecture on colour:

All the information above (including the assignment hand out) should be used as a sort of check list to ensure all the requirements and objectives of the assignment have been achieved.
